Principle 12 (excerpt)

HAVING BEEN ACTIVELY LIVING OUT THESE PRINCIPLES AND SEEING THE FRUIT OF RECONCILIATION AND RESTORATION IN MY LIFE, I NOW DESIRE TO FULFILL THE COMMAND OF CHRIST, TO SHARE HIM WITH THOSE WHO ARE STILL CAUGHT IN A LIFESTYLE WHICH SUBJECTS THEM TO THE BONDAGE OF SIN AND FEAR, AND TO PRACTICE THE LORD’S PRINCIPLES IN ALL AREAS OF MY LIFE.

The first personal part of this principle experience is spiritual regeneration that I received when I accepted Jesus Christ into my life. By His grace I became born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and came into a right relationship with God the Father. The second part was experienced when I came to the revelation that was revealed to me in Matthew 10:8 which states, "Freely I have received, freely I am to give." I will never grow in maturity nor can I keep what I will not give away if I don’t heed the principle that is stated in Luke 9:24. If having Jesus in my life is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, nothing will keep me from telling others about Him. Then, finally, practicing the Lord’s principles becomes an ongoing, one day at a time, way of living in which I will continue to grow in the Lord and be renewed and transformed daily from faith to faith and glory to glory.

Acts 1:8

  1. When do I receive power? Why do I receive it? Have I received this power?
  2. How can I be an effective witness? Who enables me to be one?

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

  1. How does God comfort me? Why does He comfort me?
  2. Can I comfort others if I myself haven’t been comforted? Why or why not?
  3. Can my understanding of addiction/slavery enable me to minister more effectively to those who have been addicted? It is a necessity to have been addicted or can God enable someone who has never been addicted to minister if He so chooses?

Galatians 6:1-4

  1. What should I do when "someone is caught in a sin"? Why should I "watch myself"? (compare with (cf) Matthew 7:1,5)
  2. How do I "restore someone gently"? Why should I? (cf Matthew 7:12)
  3. What does it mean to "carry each other’s burdens"?

1 Peter 5:8-9

  1. What has self-control to do with resisting evil? (cf Romans 12:9-21)
  2. Do I know who my enemy is? Do I know who my enemy is not? (Ephesians 6:12) Am I ignorant of his schemes? Give an example of standing firm.
  3. How do I resist the devil? (cf 1 John 4:4, 5:4)

Jude 20-23

  1. Whose faith am I to build myself up in, and whose spirit do I pray in?
  2. What three things do the scriptures direct me to do concerning others?
