Principle 3 (excerpt)

I MAKE A DECISION TO TURN MY LIFE, MY WILL, AND FROM THE THINGS OF THE PAST, AND TO INVITE JESUS TO BE LORD, SAVIOR, AND MANAGER OF MY LIFE.

In Principle 1, I admitted and accepted that my life was unmanageable. In Principle 2, I came to believe that Jesus was God Incarnate. Now it’s time to do something about that belief and that is, to turn my life and my will over to Him completely.

I am tired of playing God, and I have decided to let my creator, who is Jesus Christ, become LORD of my life. I am humbly asking Him to forgive my sins and come into my heart and be the LORD and Manager of my life. I realize now that I need a Savior and need His help to live and do HIS will, instead of my own, from this day forward. The study of this Principle will help me to discover the foundation of this truth for my life.

Matthew 11:28-30

  1. First Jesus gives me "rest," then I find "rest." Explain.
  2. What have I yoked myself with? How was I made tired or burdened?
  3. Is there anything that I cannot bring to the LORD and trust Him with it?

Proverbs 16:1-3

  1. If the preparations of my heart belong to me and all my ways or motives seem pure, does this insure that the LORD will bring about the promise in Verse 3? Why or why not?
  2. What is the LORD’s part in these verses and what function do they serve?
  3. Give an example of a time when these principles have been observed in my life and what are some of the areas in my life that I need Jesus to manage?

2 Corinthians 6:2

  1. Does this concept still apply today? Is this still the time of His favor? How can I know for sure?
  2. When is the best time to apply Principle 3 to my life? Am I too late?
  3. Why have I had difficulty with the "now is the time" concept? Do I have problems with this concept in other areas also? If so, how has it affected me?

John 3:16-18

  1. Why did Jesus come into the world? What is my condition if I don’t accept Him?
  2. Is this scripture saying that "without Jesus" I’m condemned already?
  3. How have I seen this condemnation displayed in my life thus far? Have I observed it in areas such as Health, Socially, Financially, Spiritually, Legally, and in my choices?

John 3:36

  1. What will happen to those who accept Jesus, that is, become "born again"? What happens to those who don’t accept the free Gift of God?
  2. Is this scripture saying, "that without Jesus," God’s wrath is already on me?
  3. Are there any examples in my life that could be taken as small examples of His wrath in my life? Have they gotten my attention? Why or why not?
