Principle 6 (excerpt)

I BECOME ENTIRELY READY AND WILLING TO HAVE GOD BEGIN THE PROCESS OF REMOVING ALL OF THE HABITUAL SINS IN MY LIFE. I REALIZE THAT THIS PROCESS WILL SOMETIMES BE PAINFUL AND TRYING, BUT WITH HIS HELP AND HIS WILL WORKING IN ME TO CONFORM ME TO HIS IMAGE, I KNOW WITH FULL CONFIDENCE HE WILL COMPLETE THIS WORK FULLY.

There will have to be a certain amount of fruit evident and a willingness and zeal that will be apparent in my life when I reach this point. Upon reaching Principle 6, my heart has been sensitized to my sin and a true desire to be Holy has developed because of God’s glorious work and faithfulness to His Word. My conscience is beginning to be healed from being beaten down or nearly cut off because of my living lies and a life of hypocrisy. (compare with (cf) 1 Timothy 4:1-2; Hebrews 9:14)

I have made this decision and commitment to turn from the things of my past which include the memories and old ideas that cause me to stumble (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) and the philosophies of the world that have clouded the truth of God’s Word. The fruit that is evident is shown by my faithfulness to follow through with the foot work of allowing God to search me and try my way, and by my confession to another person that God has blessed me with by putting this person in my life to stand beside me and disciple me. I see the ever-fervent LOVE He has for me because of His continued discipline, faithfulness, and commitment to show me a new way of life. Ezekiel 36:27 is certainly true because His Spirit is causing me to love and follow His decrees. (Psalm 119:15-18, 47-48, 57, 63, 67, 71, 92, 103-104, 133, 140, 142, 161-163, 165)

Galatians 1:3-5

  1. For what purpose did Jesus "give Himself up"? Can I accept the fact that I’m worth that much to Him?
  2. What does the Father will for me? How is it accomplished?
  3. Do I tend to think more about God and His abilities or about myself and my shortcomings?

Hebrews 8:10-12

  1. Why does God put His laws in my mind and why does He write them on my heart? (cf Jeremiah 17:10; Ezekiel 36:26-27; 2 Corinthians 3:3)
  2. How does God write His laws on my heart? How does this show up in my life?
  3. How does God promise to direct my life? What does He do regarding my sin?
  4. How do I know for sure that God has truly wiped out the remembrance of my sins and lawless deeds?

Acts 3:19

  1. What does the word "repent" mean? What does the word converted or "turn to God" mean? (cf 2 Corinthians 7:9-11)
  2. What does it mean when it states that God will blot out our sins? How does the word "repent" tie in with "were entirely ready"?
  3. Do I believe that the LORD wants to refresh me and that He is able to do it?

John 1:29

  1. Why is Jesus referred to as "the Lamb of God"?
  2. What did the Lamb come for?
  3. Why is it important to have a revelation of Jesus (the Lamb of God) in my life?

Ephesians 1:7

  1. What does "redemption through His blood" mean?
  2. What does "blood" have to do with "redemption"? (cf Hebrews 9:12)
  3. What does this scripture mean to me and how can I know this truth is in it?
